Husqvarna Viking Challenge Quilts

Went away with my family for the weekend, just so I could see the Husqvarna Viking "C0lour" challenge quilts. Where I live, we don't often get to see international quilts in real life, and it was great viewing. It is fascinating how different nationalities interpret a theme, how they put their work together, and how, as an Australian, I seemed very drawn to the Australian entries. It was worth the long drive, worth making the kids wait (although not too long) whilst I looked around, and worth the money purchasing the catalogue and reading it leisurely over coffee back home. Quilts are such a global art form now, it is wonderful that they can draw people together from the other side of the world. I wonder if the more traditional art forms do this as well within the art communities?

I love seeing quilts from all different nationalities as well. How do you think Australian quilts are different from other nationalities?
